Battleship (film) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
It’s not the first time that Hollywood has taken inspiration from a game, I’m not talking about video games, we all know there have been loads of those, I’m talking about board games!
Many years back we had “Clue” which a rather funny comedy based on the board game “Cluedo”.
My thoughts when I first heard that Battleship was based on the board game was: “How the hell are they going to do that!”. But after seeing Battleship last night at @ApolloCinemas Rhyl, I was really surprised that it has been done and how enjoyable the actual film is.
Ok it’s a complete no brainer you really don’t have to think about the film, all you need to know us that aliens are attempting to kick Earth’s backside, yes that’s about it really.
Through in some amazing special effects and stacks of explosions, extremely well set pieces, carnage and a slight homage to the board game and your set for a rather exciting 2 hours that just fly by.
Ok Rhianna doesn’t really need to do much with her acting in the film, except run around, shout and fire of a stack of ammo, but what she does is nicely done. Throw in Alexander Skarsgard (Eric from True Blood) and Taylor Kitsch (John Carter) for the eye candy for us girls and we’re away
Don’t listen to people who have said it’s like Transformers, it isn’t, this is mainly from those that have only seen the trailer with a section that looks like a giant ship is changing like a transformer.

Overall Thoughts For Battleship
It’s a fun action packed movie that doesn’t need you to think hard about what is going on. If you want a full-blown action movie with a twist of Sci-Fi then this is going to be for you. Personally I loved it.
And stay right umtil the end of the credits, for a little extra bit to keep you thinking
